Repayable grant aid in the sum of 20 million euros has been awarded to aviation firm Sonaca by Wallonia’s Minister for Scientific Research, Jean-Marc Nollet. Aid that will enable them to conduct research and development work in connection with a contract with the aircraft manufacturers Embraer, signed last July.

This aid will allow Sonaca to carry out research and development work over 3 or 4 years before starting up production of components intended for E2 regional aircraft, the future versions of Embraer 190 and 195, and to generate turnover of a billion dollars.
