The Euro Space Center, a concept that is unique in Europe, welcomes visitors of 35 different nationalities every year. For more than 26 years, this space discovery and leisure centre located in Redu in the province of Luxembourg has welcomed more than 180,000 young people and given them a taste for space. After India, China and the Emirates, it is now the turn of Switzerland to take an interest in it.
Many classes are particularly attracted by the project which allows teachers to bring to life and put into practice the often abstract themes that are studied in lessons. They are able to enjoy a genuine experience that combines fun activities and learning: pupils are able to test the sensation of walking on the moon, build rockets and embark on a space mission. Therefore, these space classes help to develop vocations and pass on a taste for space sciences to young people.
When it opened in 1991, it was neighbouring countries that took an interest in the Euro Space Center. In the 2000s, the centre moved beyond these countries, crossing the English Channel and opening up to the rest of Europe. Ten years later, following a meeting with the economic and commercial attachés from AWEX (Export and Foreign Investment Agency for the Walloon Region) in India, it really started to shine overseas, so much so that the operation was repeated for China, the United Arab Emirates and now Switzerland, with Redu soon to be hosting Swiss classes in order to put their heads in the stars.
