Sonaca Aircraft prepares to deliver the first Sonaca 200

Just three years after submitting its certification application, Belgian aircraft manufacturer Sonaca Aircraft has received Type Certification for the Sonaca 200.

Located in Temploux, Sonaca Aircraft - a subsidiary of aeronautics group Sonaca - has worked hard over the last few years to develop, certify and market a new two-seater aeroplane, the "Sonaca 200". Aerodynamic performances, manoeuvrability and reliability make the aeroplane perfect for training pilots.

Thanks to its Type certification, Sonaca Aircraft is now authorised to fly the Sonaca 200 both in Europe and the rest of the world, under a European certificate of airworthiness. This strategic phase in the project was reached in June this year; it was also a symbolic moment for the Belgian aeronautics sector, which had not produced a certified aeroplane for several decades !

Two versions are available for sale: the Sonaca 200 Trainer for the analogue version and the Sonaca 200 Trainer Pro for the Glass Cockpit version. Sonaca Aircraft is currently working on the development of two new versions of the aircraft: UPRT (Upset Prevention and Recovery Training) and IFR (Instrument Flight Rules).

The first Sonaca 200 aircrafts will be delivered in the next few weeks.
