Two RTBF co-productions receive awards at La Rochelle

"La Forêt", coproduction RTBF/France 3

Two RTBF co-productions (a TV movie and series) have received awards at La Rochelle’s Festival of Fiction TV, which was held between 13 and 17 September.

The TV film Special mention was awarded three prizes: Best screenplay, Rising actress for the young comedienne who plays the main role, Marie Dal Zotto, and Award for the Nouvelle Aquitaine Region.

This co-production between RTBF and TF1 tells the story of Laura, 21, who decided to do her bac (final exams) like any other young girl her age. Except that Laura is not like the others. She has Down Syndrome and therefore faces difficulties, the doubts of her family and the sometimes cruel looks of others. Test after test, a mixture of comedy and drama, Laura fights tooth and nail to snatch the opportunities which others want to deny her and to live the life she chooses.

With Marie Dal Zotto, Bruno Salomone and Hélène de Fougerolles.

The series The Forest, a coproduction between RTBF and France 3, has received the Prize for the best 52 minute Series.

In Montfaucon, a small, peaceful village in the Ardennes, everything is turned upside when Jennifer, a teenager from the village, is found dead in the forest. Lieutenant Musso and Captain Decker are leading the investigation when two of Jennifer’s best friends disappear too. Little by little, everyone begins to suspect everyone...

With Samuel Labarthe, Clément, Alexia Barlier, Frédéric Diefenthal, Patrick Ridremont and Nicolas Marié

La Rochelle’s Festival of Fiction TV is an unmissable event organised by the audiovisual and acting school in the area. At the event, they discuss and create the fiction of tomorrow via case studies, round table discussions, lectures and a special day dedicated to audiovisual production with a guest of honour, which is South Korea this year.
