The European final of the Bocuse d'Or, one of the most prestigious cooking competitions in the world, was held in June, in Turin. Curtis Mulpas, from Wavre, wearing the colours of Italy with Chief Martino Ruggieri as captain (Pavillon Ledoyen), was voted best commis chef. This distinction will enable him to qualify for the world final, which will take place in February 2019 in Lyon.
Incidentally, Belgium also qualified for the event.
