Mithra and Mayne Pharma, its American partner, announced the commercial launch of Estelle (the oestrogen-based oral contraceptive from the Liège company) under the Nextstellis brand in the United States on Monday. This is the first and only pill based on Estetrol (E4), a native oestrogen that is now produced from plant sources. E4 is the first new oestrogen released in the United States in 50 years. Nextstellis was approved by the FDA, the American drug agency, last April.
