For many months, I have been actively researching everything to do with hiker, in the broader sense of the term.
For many hikers, this history is not easy to understand and yet there is a little-known treasure trove in Belgian institutions, such as the National Library of Belgium, various libraries and from many Belgians who possess private archives.
This history of hiking may be of interest for hikers themselves, the many volunteers who organise outings and walks, historians, journalists, students looking for a thesis or dissertation idea, universities, people employed in the tourism sector, and more.
We have a wonderful library dedicated to this history, which we would love to share with as many people as we can.
This can be done via a meeting or by making contact online.
We would like the support of all Wallonia Brand ambassadors to spread the word about our historic research project.
This appeal is also launched to the Belgian press and media, in order to better understand history – the true history of hiking.
