Pairi Daiza was honoured with the prize for the "best zoo in Europe" in the frame of the Diamond ThemePark Awards (8th edition), which is reserved for animal and theme parks in Benelux.
Pairi Daiza received the award for the most beautiful park and that of the best zoo in Benelux. It also won a prize for its "Gorilla Volcano" and another for its "Orang-utan Flower Temple".
The Walibi theme park was also not left out! Thanks to its Aqualibi water park, it received no fewer than eight awards, including those for the best theme park and the best water park in Belgium.
A jury of experts and 35,000 voters, all regular visitors to theme parks, selected the winners. It was the first time that the contest included a European category for zoological parks.
