On social media he’s been known for several years under the pseudonym Nico en Vrai (Nico for Real). Because it was online that it all began, during the 2020 lockdown. Nicolas Lacroix was bored. So he took his smartphone and using his sense of humour, posted his first video on TikTok. What happened? 60,000 views in two days. Something had begun! Everyday life and the videos he finds online are an endless source of inspiration for him. He’s become a social media star!
But Nicolas Lacroix’s forays into comedy date back to his childhood. Even as a young boy in Namur, he made his schoolmates laugh, despite his legendary shyness. But it was really at the age of 18 that Nicolas found himself immersed in the world of professional comedy, working in show production alongside the Taloche Brothers.
Thanks to his growing reputation, Nico en Vrai was spotted by comedian Guihome, who took him under his wing. The two Belgians have similar backgrounds. This collaboration gave rise to Trop gentil (Too kind), his first one-man show. The first performance took place at the Namur is a joke! festival. The show was a success, appealing to all generations.
Once Nicolas had tasted the pleasures of the stage, he began to like it. The dates followed one after another, the tour was extended and the staging was improved with each performance. Today, Nicolas Lacroix wears many hats, as he is also a radio and television commentator, and a film and television actor.
