On February 22 the Mons-based company Creaceed announced that it will launch the version 2.0 of its app Prizmo Go which makes it possible, among other things, to use the iPhone or iPad’s camera optics to recognize text, locate it and transcribe it.
Creaceed is a Belgian company, run by four impassioned people, which develop and commercialize apps for 10 years. It focuses itself on image processing technologies in the field of document scanning, note-taking and photo and video processing. Some of its apps like Hydra, Carbo and Prizmo were rewarded by the media and highlighted by Apple several times.
With a turnover of around 350,000 euros, Creaceed does not have time to relax. The lifespan of an app is only 1 or 2 years so it is essential to create and to innovate in order to keep up and to reap the benefits of the investments, especially in the highly competitive development market.
The company met the challenge since it is reinventing its Prizmo Go application with a version 2.0, which makes it possible to take a photo of a printed or handwritten document and to extract and recognize the text, thanks to the Optical Character Recognition (OCR). But that’s not all; it also allows to translate texts online in 59 different languages and even to help partially-sighted and blind people thanks to specific functionalities such as vocal guidance, automatic correction, speech synthesis, etc. Anyway, Prizmo Go 2.0 enables its users to save considerable time.
