Corsica accessible from Charleroi

What we announced a few months ago is from now on operational: the first Air Corsica plane landed a few days ago in Charleroi airport. In 2017, four to nine flights per week should be connecting Charleroi and Bastia or Ajaccio, with increasing frequency of flights already scheduled in 2018 and 2019.

In 2017, some 60,000 seats will be available to the airline passengers. Air Corsica hopes that 80 to 90 % of those seats will be booked, especially on the Belgian market, which represents almost 100,000 annual trips to the Island of Beauty, according to Corsican officials. The company chose Charleroi for its ideal location and its accessibility. Not only is Brussels just 40 minutes away from Charleroi by car, but also the Walloon motorway network enables the visitors to easily reach bordering  countries.

Jean-Jacques Cloquet, the chief executive of BSCA, declared that the arrival of the Corsican airline was part of the airport diversification strategy. “This reward comes from our work and from a reputation that is still growing”, he explained.
