In Wallonia, We May Not Have Oil, but We Have Creative Minds!
She is beautiful. She is young. She is brilliant. Born in Belgium, she remains firmly rooted in her Congolese heritage. Like her, her parents are intellectuals who play an active role in Belgium’s economy.
She has a thirst for truth. She loves what is real and genuine.
She loves colours, and even those of the rainbow are not enough to express her talent.
She has a brilliant mind. Some of her key human qualities, apart from her devotion to her family, are modesty, humility, and the pursuit of what is right and of justice in general. These qualities make her all the more brilliant in the various fields in which she works with passion, patience and humanity.
A criminal lawyer and defender of those who have been mistreated or hurt by life, by the system, or by painful experiences of any kind, Bénédicte Mbangala, née Perrott, is also an occasional painter. She is a talented Belgian artist whose genius lies in turning brushes, palette knives and paints into instruments in her quest for what is right, tools for raising awareness, and messengers conveying distinct moods shaped by the feelings that our evolving society evokes in her soul.
Each work tells a story, like a manuscript, capturing the feelings of the moment and becoming a novel that is sometimes historical, sometimes romantic, sometimes analytical, or simply pure. Pure in its beauty. Pure like her storyteller’s heart, bringing colours together in a magnificent painting that one never tires of looking at.
Without a doubt, this remarkable artist is both of her time and avant-garde. Her thirst for justice reflects the concerns of our time, while her passion for shaping the world to come places her ahead of her time. She creates with precision and attention to detail; she moves forward.
Take, for example, Les Mésanges Bleues, a certified and unconventional guesthouse that offers a luxurious hotel suite within the hosts’ own home.
As artists themselves, the hosts decided to showcase the works of other talented individuals. NovaLys Art Gallery, a private art gallery, was born. It invites artisans of beauty, creators of dreams and philosophers who express themselves through high-quality imagery to adorn the walls of the guesthouse and, later, of carefully selected venues. A form of patronage that is truly out of the ordinary.
Quite naturally, Bénédicte put herself forward. A true trailblazer of tomorrow, she helped open the gallery with panache and courage. After all, leading an initiative or any kind of movement is never easy. Blazing new trails requires courage, perseverance and, often, the unwavering hope of a valiant heart.
Accompanied by her brother, Bénédicte hung the paintings on the walls after selecting, from her own collection, the works that were just right—perfect for the setting.
The first two guests at Les Mésanges Bleues to stay surrounded by Bénédicte’s artworks described the suite as a palace. As for NovaLys Art Gallery, it showcases only talented artists whose work possesses genuine artistic value.
Nowadays, the best investment is in people. Beyond nature and our planet, one of the most rewarding investments remains art, with its wonderful and inexhaustible expressions of creativity, just like our Earth itself.
Acquiring one or more of Bénédicte’s works is an investment whose value will grow exponentially. The artist is no novice when it comes to exhibitions. New York, Paris and Brussels have all rolled out the red carpet for our Belgian artist.
Do not hesitate to contact NovaLys Art Gallery if you wish to acquire one of the paintings on display in this luxurious suite. You will receive an invoice and can leave with the artwork under your arm. The works are signed on the reverse and come with a certificate of authenticity. Speaking as an art lover, I have rarely seen such remarkable works that are both modern and contemporary.
Bénédicte, known as Peintre.parfois, is exhibiting her works at Les Mésanges Bleues in Malmedy, Belgium, from 1 December 2025 to 1 March 2026. Visits are by appointment only.
