L&L Plaquette offers a wide range of quality butter varieties for gourmet grocery stores

The trade show dedicated to fine food stores, Gourmet Selection, is just a few days away (September 21 and 22). It's the perfect opportunity to showcase one of the Walloon companies exhibiting at the collective Wallonia booth in Paris: L&L Plaquette.

For six generations, the Plaquette family has been based at the Mesnil Saint Blaise farm, in the heart of the Ardennes. Lionel represents the sixth generation and is a butter producer—but not just any butter. L&L Plaquette offers more than 16 varieties of butter in about ten different packaging formats.
"These range from 10-gram butter portions, perfect for airline catering, restaurants, or luxury hotel breakfasts, to 5-kilo blocks for kitchens, as well as 100-gram portions for retail sales," explains Lionel Plaquette, CEO of the company, which will be exhibiting at booth E096 at the Gourmet Selection trade show in Paris on September 21 and 22.

In addition to traditional unsalted and salted butters, L&L Plaquette offers a wide selection of flavored butters: with Gruissan fleur de sel, garlic, black garlic, mixed herbs, shallot, tarragon, lemon, green pepper, onion, ginger, horseradish, black truffle, white truffle, Espelette pepper, smoked salt, seaweed, and more.

Lionel Plaquette works with a sheltered workshop to hand-wrap the small butter portions. "This ensures the quality of our products while also representing a social and societal commitment, reflecting our dedication to offering the very best butters every day," adds the CEO of L&L Plaquette.

Butters Sold Internationally

Although the butters are produced in Belgium, they are mainly sold abroad. L&L Plaquette butters can be found in the Benelux countries, France, the French overseas territories, and in Asia (notably in Hong Kong and Singapore).
" In France, which is a very patriotic and highly competitive market, we’ve managed, as a small Belgian artisan, to make our mark in some of the finest establishments.," says Lionel with a smile.

L&L Plaquette butters are sold in many fine food stores, including Le Bon Marché and Galeries Lafayette in Paris. In Belgium, they are featured at Rob, a well-known gourmet address in Brussels. But L&L Plaquette butter also takes to the skies: the Walloon company is active in airline catering, notably serving on Lufthansa flights. Finally, many top chefs serve L&L Plaquette butters at their restaurants.
