The trade show dedicated to fine food products, Gourmet Selection, will take place in just a few days (September 21 and 22). It's the perfect occasion to introduce one of the Walloon companies attending the event in Paris: La Biscuiterie Namuroise.
La Biscuiterie Namuroise is the creation of Laurent Gilain and Paul Navez. The two founders wanted to showcase artisanal biscuits made without preservatives or additives. To achieve this, they drew inspiration from 1908 recipes passed down from Laurent’s great-grandfather, adding a modern twist.
“These ancestral recipes allow us to offer natural products: fresh biscuits with no preservatives or additives. The idea for our project came from a desire to reconnect with entrepreneurship in our hometown of Namur, Belgium, and to restore the prestige of traditional biscuits. This return to our roots is deeply embedded in our DNA and our way of working,” explain the two founders.
Launched in 2019, La Biscuiterie Namuroise aims to contribute to the biscuit world by redefining industrial production, proving that large-scale manufacturing doesn't have to compromise the integrity of the product.
“What makes us who we are today is the quality of our biscuits and the stories they tell with every bite,” say Laurent and Paul.
A Sweet and Savory Range
The founders offer around fifteen sweet biscuits and five savory options. You can discover their full range on September 21 and 22 at the Gourmet Selection trade show in Paris (booth 5.2 A024). It’s a familiar event for La Biscuiterie Namuroise, which already made waves there in 2022 when its “Moque Nature” won second place in the Best-of 2022 competition.
And that's not the only recognition they’ve received. London-based magazine Luxlife awarded La Biscuiterie Namuroise the title of “Best European Artisan Biscuit Maker” in both 2022 and 2023.
Two of their creations, La Marquise and Moque Caramel Beurre Salé, were also honored at Les Épicures (Paris) in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
Today, La Biscuiterie Namuroise has an international presence in several European countries, including France, Portugal, Spain, Romania, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
